Quartet Lab

A string-quartet arranging and theory lab for iPhone and iPad: generate and arrange quartets from a melody, explore real and popular works, mix per-voice and per-note articulation, export MIDI and audio, and use it as an AUv3 plug-in in your DAW.

How do I use the AUv3?

In GarageBand, AUM or another AUv3 host, add "Quartet Lab" as a Music Device. It generates a tempo-synced quartet arrangement you can record as audio or MIDI.

Can I export my arrangement?

Yes — from the Score screen in the app, tap the share icon to export as a Standard MIDI File or as audio (.m4a).

I hear no sound.

Check the silent switch and volume, and that no instrument is muted in the mixer.

Privacy Policy

Quartet Lab collects no personal data. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no network access. Your arrangements are stored only on your device — nothing ever leaves it, except when you explicitly export or share a file yourself.
